Frequently asked questions
No. Haris Shield runs entirely on your computer. You simply connect your phone via USB cable. Nothing is installed on your phone, and the contents of your phone are never transmitted anywhere. The app does contact a few online services, for example to check your licence — the full list is on our How it works page.
Haris Shield supports both iOS (iPhone) and Android devices. For iOS, you need to have the device unlocked and trust the computer. For Android, USB debugging needs to be enabled.
Haris Shield is available for macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows and Linux (x86-64). A few tools, such as the live network monitor for iPhone, depend on the operating system.
Yes. A licence can be connected to up to three computers. Each new computer is confirmed by email, and you can remove one from your start page to connect another.
Partly. The app has to be online once to activate your licence and fetch a signed balance proof. After that it can scan without a connection for up to 14 days, using its built-in threat database and the indicators it last downloaded. Nothing from your phone is sent either way.
